Resolutions are trash. Embrace Intentions.

For the record, I don’t yet have my word for 2024 picked out yet. It’s so important. I can’t rush it.

But I can tell you for darn sure that I’m not doing traditional resolutions (and it’s not just because I’m an Enneagram Four).

Only 46% of people who make resolutions are successful a mere six months later. That’s about the same odds as staying married – not great.

But you know what is 100% achievable?

Picking a single word or phrase that you share with anyone who will listen.

Every Michael Scott needs a hype person like this.

Write it on a card. Post it on your bathroom mirror. Slowly change your life by letting your intentions seep into the corners of your mind and life.

The steps are super simple.

Pick a word that sums up how you want to feel in 2024. Or how you want to be. Or maybe what you are choosing more of this year.

Here are my words and phrases from the last several years.

2023: Stand Still for Mother God
2022: Assume Positive Intent
2021: Tender
2020: Delight
2019: Embody
2018: Magnanimous
2017: Margin
2016: Intentional

If you need some prompts, try free associating on these babies:

  • What makes me cry?

  • What am I inspired by?

  • What pisses me off?

  • What breaks my heart?

  • What am I curious about?

Or stare at a fresh & shiny 2024 calendar, like this cool dude I just added to an entire wall. Notice what you wish you could write on there and consider incorporating it into your vision for 2024. Use Promo Code: MARY10 (for $10 off).

So curious what phrase or word you will choose to make this year closer to want you want it to be!

Rooting for you into the new year,

Mary
