Hi, I’m Mary Van Geffen,
and I’m a mom just like you.
At my lowest point, I was hurting my children's hearts and sometimes their bodies. Staying calm while parenting did not come naturally to me. I had no idea what it looked like to stay grounded in the midst of defiance and explosive emotions.
In the early years, there was a lot of yelling, rage, and disconnection from both of us.
But I became determined to break the cycle. I learned that self-regulation is a skill that takes practice. We aren't born knowing how to get back to calm. Since this didn't come naturally to me, I had to learn the specific steps and parts to create the whole. That makes me the perfect person to teach it to you.
Today, my great joy is helping parents transform their relationship with their most challenging moments. I've coached thousands of moms to become the calm, peaceful presence their children need.
