How do you know if you have a Spicy One™?

Well…

  • It depends on your child’s temperamental intensity and their depth of emotions.

  • It depends on your own unhealed need to control, your propensity to judge rather than accept, and the work you’ve done to articulate your own childhood.

  • It depends if you are a Highly Sensitive Person or if you struggle with attention-related difficulties.

  • It depends on how strong your fear of displeasing others is.

Your Spicy One might not actually feel like a Spicy One to me.

We are each on such a different journey!

You’re just in time:

Moms of Spicy Ones® 8-week group coaching program will re-open for registration in Fall 2024.

I’m Mary Van Geffen, and I am the mother of a Spicy One™.

Not only that, but I was (am) a Spicy One™ myself, so I’ve been rockin’ the Spicy lifestyle for as long as I can remember!

You may have a Spicy One™ if they:

    • Express themself in big and loud ways

    • Aren’t afraid to take up space

    • Tend to be moving all the time

    • Hurt folks unintentionally

    • Feel things really intensely

    • Are louder than appropriate

    • Exhibit a zest for life and have energy to spare

    • Use powerful words that can wound or delight

    • Are often very aware of others’ feelings yet miss social cues that peers are feeling disgruntled

    • Powerfully negotiate until they lose hope and melt down

    • Have no problem setting boundaries with adults

    • Choose to be completely true to themselves, not others.

    • Notice everything from how the chair moved one foot to mom being in a bad mood

    • Would love to direct all play with peers

    • Can’t be consoled physically

    • Can be incredibly sweet, caring and loyal

    • Refuse to say “I love you” until they feel it

“Your Spicy One™ is your invitation to grow your love for yourself and your child unconditionally.”
